Okay, so where'd the weekend go? So I slept in late on Saturday and Sunday mornings...as in 9:20 AM. K-man usually rises around 6:00, and Hubster got up with him so I could snooze. Okay okay...maybe there was a little drool on the bed from where I was snoozing, but it's hard work resting in the serenity of a bedroom sans infant.
We went and got the grocery shopping done late yesterday morning...with everyone else within a 24.8 mile radius. Don't they have something else they need to be doing (like sleeping) so I can have the whole store to myself? Then we came home and while Hubby watched the football game and the little man slept next to him, I got a pot roast in the oven, arranged a floral arrangement on the table, and then started washing fish and lettuce (not together) for fried fish and a caesar salad. I should have known when the meat for the pot roast didn't look quite right in the package that things weren't headed my way. Cast iron skillets that are used for pan frying orange roughy that run out of olive can really smoke up a house. When you have to scream "GET OUT OF MY WAY" as you run with said skillet in oven mitted hands towards the open back door, that's not exactly Martha Stewart-esque. Just because the skillet was freaking hot, the remnants in the bottom of the pan were coal black, and the fish was burned - doesn't mean the fish was completely cooked. Wet lettuce makes for soggy caesar salads. And meat that didn't look "quite right" coming out of the package can't be expected to taste "quite right" after four and a half hours in the oven. The dog will be eating good tonight.
Oh yeah, and I short-cutted Pioneer Woman's drinking chocolate recipe last night. I threw a handful of chocolate chips in to a bowl and melted them on 15 second intervals in the microwave. Then, when they were mostly melted, I added in a little cream and kept stirring. (isn't this basically ganache?). I had stuck a glass of milk in the freezer, which I then retrieved and poured a copious amount of melted chocolate in to and then guzzled. Not sure what I think about it. I'll have to try it again...maybe with a different chocolate.

Oh, God, I feel the same way.
I've been up at 4 the past few days and it doesn't look to end anytime soon.
Why can't everyday be a weekend day?
I don't guess it would matter, seeing how this second job is 7 days a week.
