Thankful

Kimba had a great idea for this month. Every day post something you and/or your family are thankful for. I'll try to keep up with this.

Today as every day, I am thankful for my God. Our God. I am thankful that He promises to keep watch over us and hold us in His steadfast love. I am thankful that we don't always understand why things happen the way they do. I am thankful for those times when He closes doors that I want so badly to open. And for those times when a path arises before us that we didn't expect. I am thankful that His love knows no boundaries, His grace is limitless, and His forgiveness is complete. I am thankful that our salvation isn't by our own works but by His mercy. I know that whatever happens, He is in control, and in that, I can rest and lay down my worry. And I thank Him for knowing that I'm only human when I pick that worry right back up and start carrying it around again because I know that He knows me better than I do. He knows that I'll return and lay my burden down again...and pick it back up...and lay it down...and pick it back up. I'm thankful that His patience is beyond our comprehension.

I will lift my eyes unto the hills,
From whence shall my help come.
My help comes from the Lord,
The Maker of Heaven and Earth.

He will not allow your foot to stumble,
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold! He who keeps Israel
Will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your keeper,
The Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun will not smite you by day,
Nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from evil,
He will keep you safe.
The Lord will guard your coming in and going out
From this time forth and forever.

~Psalm 121

Thanks for playing along, Deanna. Your post is beautiful. And I am so thankful for the same thing. Thank goodness that the Lord is patient with me. Patient beyond my comprehension.
